The tiny hamlet of Gratton is perched on the borders of 3 counties eachRudyard Lake offering something entirely different. To the East we have the wonderful scenery and market towns of The Peak District and Derbyshire. The RoachesThe beautiful market town of Leek with its antique and specialist shops is only a short drive whilst Ashborne, Bakewell and Buxton are all within easy reach. For those who enjoy walking The Roaches, Rudyard Lake, Tittesworth Reservoir and Dovedale provide something for everyone. Not forgetting the truly wonderful houses and gardens of Chatsworth and Haddon.The Hollybush Inn To the North is Cheshire with its rolling countryside, many National Trust properties, silk mills and of course Jodrell Bank all well worth a visit.To the South & West we have Staffordshire with the peaceful Caldon Canal where you can either stroll or take a narrowboat trip to enjoy the picturesque canal, or the wonderful Biddulph Grange GardensChurnet Valley with its footpaths and for the enthusiast the ever popular The Churnet Valley Railway steam railway. There are also the fine gardens at Biddulph Grange and Trentham, the excellent pottery museums of Stoke-on-Trent and of course the fun day out at Alton Towers.
